Terms of servicePurchases & refundsPrivacy policyContact
The short version. Summit is a study game provided as is. By using it you agree to these terms. AI-made content can be wrong, so check it against your course materials. All purchases are final: they're delivered immediately and can't be refunded, except where the law in your country requires otherwise. We collect as little as we can and never sell your data.
Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Summit ("Summit", "we", "us") for your use of summitstudy.org and its related services (the "Service"). By using the Service or buying anything on it, you accept these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who can use Summit
- Summit isn't intended for children under 13. If you're under 13, don't use it.
- If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use Summit only with the permission of a parent or guardian, and you may make purchases only with their permission. By making a purchase you confirm that you are an adult or have that permission.
2. What Summit is, and what it isn't
- Summit turns study material you provide into practice games using artificial intelligence. AI-generated prompts, answers, rankings and explanations may be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date.
- Summit is a practice tool, not educational, professional, medical, legal or financial advice, and it isn't affiliated with any school, exam board or test. We don't promise any result in any exam or course.
- Scores and rankings are for fun and may be inaccurate or affected by other players.
3. Your content
- You keep ownership of the notes, photos and answers you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display Your Content, and to send it to our service providers (including AI providers), as needed to run, secure and improve the Service. If you share a route's link, you allow anyone with that link to view and play it.
- You're responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to submit it, and that it doesn't break any law or anyone's rights (including copyright and privacy). Don't submit other people's personal information or anything confidential.
- We may remove or refuse any content, and delete routes, at our discretion and without notice.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break any law; upload anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual involving minors, or infringing; try to get around daily limits, bot checks, payment checks or other protections; scrape, overload, attack, probe or reverse engineer the Service; use bots or automation except as normal use of a web browser; use the Service to build a competing product or dataset; resell Plus codes or route packs except as gift codes bought on Summit; or try to manipulate the AI into producing harmful content.
5. Suspension and ending the Service
- We may suspend or end your access, revoke Plus codes, gift codes or route packs, and delete your data, without notice or refund, if we reasonably believe you've broken these terms, committed fraud, or disputed or charged back a payment.
- We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. "Lifetime" means for as long as we operate the Service.
6. Third-party services
Summit relies on other companies, including Cloudflare (hosting and bot checks), Google (AI and advertising), and Stripe (payments). Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services. We aren't responsible for third-party services, ads, or websites linked from Summit.
7. No warranties
THE SERVICE AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY DATA (INCLUDING SCORES, ROUTES, ROUTE PACKS OR CODES) WILL BE PRESERVED.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR ACADEMIC OR EXAM RESULTS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US $10. Some places don't allow some of these limits; in those places they apply to the fullest extent allowed.
9. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Summit and its operator from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms or of anyone's rights.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new terms. Purchases are governed by the terms in force when you made them.
11. General
These terms, together with the privacy policy below, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part is enforced as far as allowed. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under laws that can't be waived by contract.
Purchases & refunds
All sales are final. No refunds. Summit Plus, gift codes and route packs are digital content that's delivered immediately when payment completes. Before you pay, you're asked to agree to these terms and to immediate delivery. By doing so you acknowledge that, where the law allows, you lose any right to cancel or withdraw from the purchase, and that no refunds will be given. This doesn't affect rights you have under laws that can't be waived (for example, if what you bought was never delivered).
- Summit Plus is a one-time payment. It gives more new routes per day, the endless climb, no ads and climber gear for as long as Summit runs. It isn't a subscription and never renews. Features and limits may change, but Plus players keep at least what free players get, with no ads.
- Your Plus code unlocks Plus on up to 5 of your devices, or again after you clear your browser. Keep it safe: it's your proof of purchase. We can't recover lost codes.
- Gift codes are Plus codes bought for other people, one per person, cheaper in bulk. Once delivered, each works like a Plus code. You're responsible for giving them to the right people.
- Route packs add extra new routes to the browser you bought them on, used after your daily allowance. They don't expire, but they're tied to that browser: clearing it or switching devices loses unused routes, and they can't be moved or refunded.
- Prices are shown before you pay and may change at any time. A launch price may apply until a date shown on the site; earlier buyers keep what they bought, and later buyers pay the price shown when they buy.
- Payments are processed by Stripe, which may act as the seller of record and apply its own terms. We never see your card details. If you dispute or charge back a payment, we may revoke what it bought.
Privacy policy
This policy explains what Summit stores, who else is involved, and your choices.
What Summit stores
- No account. Your browser keeps a random player id. Summit never asks for your name, email or age.
- Your climbs: scores, the answers you gave and their tiers, your endless-climb best and your review progress. Scores feed the anonymous "how you compare" rankings.
- Your routes: the notes you paste (and a text transcript of any photos) and the prompts made from them. Your routes are listed only for you. If you share a route's link, anyone with that link can play it and see its notes. You can delete a route at any time from Your routes, which removes its notes, prompts and scores.
- Purchases: Stripe's payment reference, your Plus code, gift codes and route-pack balance. Never your card details, name or email.
- Counters of how many requests come from each player and network each day, kept for a few days to stop abuse. Network addresses are stored only as one-way hashes.
Data is stored on Cloudflare's servers. Cloudflare Turnstile runs a quick bot check when you make a route.
The AI
Your notes, photos and answers are sent to an AI to make prompts, check answers and explain tiers. The AI usually runs on the operator's own computer and nothing leaves it. When that computer is unavailable, Summit uses Google's Gemini API, and Google may use what's sent to its free service to improve its products, including review by people. Players in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are never sent to the free Gemini service.
Ads
Summit may show ads from Google AdSense on the home and results screens (never during a climb, and never for Summit Plus players). Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. When you're out of routes for the day, you can choose to watch a short ad from Google to unlock one more route; watching is always optional.
Your choices
- Delete any of your routes from Your routes.
- Clear your browser's site data to start fresh (this also removes Plus from that browser until you re-enter your code, and loses unused route packs).
- Ask us to delete everything linked to your player id, using the contact details below. We don't sell personal data.
